A fellow MR2 Turbo owner has fitted an inlet manifold without locating the IAT sensor in it. He is contemplating fitting the IAT sensor immediately before the throttle body. What issues will he have to consider regarding the location of the WI nozzle relative to this location of the IAT sensor? I believe there is around 20 inches of hardpipe between the intercooler outlet and the throttle body. Any help appreciated, thanks. Tony

IAT sensors have a coating on the sensor, it is not affected by methanol. The location of the IAT is not important, it's all about the temp. You get the full benifit of the extra timing when you put the nozzle before the IAT because your PCM sees the temp change.

How many inches does it take for the air charge too be completely cooled? I.e. will I get an accurate temperature of the air charge if the IAT sensor is only like 4" after the water injection nozzle?
