Will this work this way?

So i have a Corrado G60 turbo.
Stock compression is 8:1

Runing 1.15 bar with only SMIC resulted in melted piston from detonation (i heard it, just didnt know what it was at that time ) but fueling was OK. So it was to much hot air/pressure.

Now i've fitted a FMIC and i´m runing 1.1 bar at 11.8 afr and all ok.

What i pretend to do is put WI (10% of total fuel) of just water, than raise boost until:
1- see knock
or
2- get to a 12.5 AFR

Is this a proper way to use WI?

i perfer 11.5 -11.8 a/f with NO alcohol

then 10.5-10.8 with . some cars like more alcohol some less...

Thanks for reply but i will be using just WATER.

You want to start rich because when you start to spray the water it will lean you out.

you will make more HP and supress knock better with alcohol/meth

i acknolodge that it would be better with methanol but i will only be using water.

For what AFR should i aim for with just water?

to be honest i have no idea what to shoot for with water

not sure if a g60 uses one, but datalogging the stock knock sensor or using a device like a j and s safeguard is the way to go.
