I use the same stuff, I put 1/2 to 2/3 of the washer fluid and 2-3 bottle of the yellow heat. Dvldoc, if this mixture is to strong or to lean please let me know. or if you have any ideas of how to alter this mixture. |

There are much cheaper sources of methanol than heet, The walmart brand windshield washer fluid concentrate is cheep and is 100% methanol. 50/50 mix on a 3800 series motor is a good mix to run. It tend to run to rich without pulling a ton of fuel if you run more.

With my previous kit I used to run nothing but straight HEET with great results plus it's super cheap. http://www.jriditarod.com/images/jou...t%20cooker.jpg

Why would anyone run anything but straight 99.9% race methanol? It's cheap at the local track (or where ever) And in my personal experience works ALOT better than any water mix at controlling knock. (3.8 turbo buick) I usually just bring 2 5 gallon jugs with me and it lasts quite a while. I also have a 2.5 gallon reservoir.

Unfortuatly not everyone can get 100% meth due to location and not all cars like 100%. Certain ones do, grand nationals, forced inducted mustangs and GM V8's for example love it. There are cheaper sources that heet. The walmart brand windshield washer fluid consentrate and the methanol gas line antifreeze are both 100% methanol and 1/3 the cost of HEET. And yes all washer fluid has distilled water. |

so if money was not a question would you run the Walmart windshield washer fluid or the Walmart methanol gas line antifreeze and mix it with distilled water? Just trying to get an idea of the reasoning for each... I am still wiring up my setup, Procharged 468 with no intercooler.... was going to run 50/50 mix but have been trying to get opinions and ideas what they would recommend. |
